Nightlife Websites and their Biggest Problem

The reason so many nightlife websites start and just stop before they even get complete is because of one major hurdle.

Accuracy.  It's nearly impossible for one person or people starting a website to maintain accuracy in nightlife events.  It doesn't matter if that person has worked in or lived/breathed nightlife for the past 10 years. The reason is because their opinion will still always be skewed and this is why..
Nightclubs and nightlife operate off of what's hot. What is hot IS what is happening.  Everyone wants to know what's happening. AKA hot.

The problem is that different types of people find different scenes hot.  So one group of people, for example serious hip hop lovers, will find one club totally popping, while another group of people, lets say top 40/mainstream lovers, will find another club that same exact night totally raging.  2 clubs are 'the hottest'.  Wait. But then what really is the hottest that night?  See... this is where the problems start.

The way LAScenester.com has set out to solve this problem is to utilize all the different people working in nightlife, such as the promoters, to say what is going on.  LAScenester.com never actually says which 1 spot is hottest.  All that it does is give as much detailed information about nights as possible, such as music style, dress code, door factor, and how to get in including who to contact.

With this information people can figure out their scene.  House lovers can find their scene, dubsteppers can find their scene, hip hop lovers can find their scene... there is something for everyone.  It's the hottest scenes of each.  You can also tell what are going to be hot scenes based on the flyer, what is happening at the club that night and door factor.

Note that door factor alone doesn't mean anything because sometimes good indie underground scenes might have a non 'good luck' door... but that doesn't mean that there you won't find celebs, tastemakers or real 'scenesters', or just plain old great people and a cool scene.
